The property has been badly restored in the past and awaits a new restoration. On 14 July 2008 the Izmir city council approved restoration plans for the property, to be then used as a youth and cultural centre. As of Summer 2010 these plans have still not been realized, however the city mayor and culture minister have both vowed to undertake this restoration.
